High-performance mechanical jacks for servomotors: ATLANTA servoactuators

ARE YOU SURE YOU KNOW MECHANICAL SCREW JACKS WITH BRUSHLESS MOTORS, THEIR LIMITS, AND CHARACTERISTICS? WITH ATLANTA YOU WILL BE SURPRISED HOW THEY ARE REDEFINED: INTRODUCING THE ``SERVOACTUATORS``

The mechanical jack (so-called screw jack) is a specific type of linear actuator designed to handle very high loads in lifting and positioning applications. ATLANTA solutions focus on maximizing speed and force, while maintaining high precision and a compact design.

The ATLANTA servoactuator is the combination of an ATLANTA low-backlash precision servo worm gearbox with an adequately sized, optimized, and manufactured ball screw. This union results in countless advantages that are not normally found in screw jacks on the market, whether they are trapezoidal screw or “classic” ball screw types.

Integrated servo worm gearbox

This design reduces inertia, improving the controllability and dynamism of the system compared to standard screw jacks. Low circumferential backlash is essential for precise positioning.

The integration of the gearbox and the non-inline design between the motor and the ball screw allow for a compact and space-saving layout.

Unique input speed

The servo worm gearboxes are optimized to work with servo motors with input speeds up to 6000 rpm, which allow very high linear speeds (up to 666 mm/s in the standard version), while maintaining significant load capacities.

Precision ball screws

ATLANTA uses special ball screws, appropriately sized and manufactured, with static and dynamic load capacities far superior to the standard.

Furthermore, the standard axial backlash is only 0.03mm or zero (with preload), which is fundamental for positioning precision and repeatability. The resulting lead error is 23µm/300mm.

Duty cycles up to S1

The ATLANTA solutions are suitable for continuous operation (up to 100% duty cycle), thanks to the low heat generation determining a clear advantage compared to the most widespread screw jacks on the market.

Versatility as a key competence

ATLANTA proposes solutions with a completely closed and guided cylinder for maximum protection and for use in ATEX zones or in the presence of vacuum, in addition to the classic versions with rotating screw or telescopic rod.

ATLANTA has long been employed in numerous food-grade or high-temperature applications and can also integrate additional limit switches.

We are the tailors for your challenge

ATLANTA’s know-how is expressed not only in standardized servoactuators, but above all in customized and tailor-made solutions.

When a standard ATLANTA servoactuator is not sufficient and the application requires a completely ad hoc solution, ATLANTA itself makes its engineering, process, and production resources available to realize what was previously just a challenging idea.

The tangible advantages of an ATLANTA servoactuator

ATLANTA servoactuators are THE strategic choice for anyone wishing to maximize the performance and reliability of their positioning and lifting systems thanks to countless advantages:

  • maximum productivity, zero interruptions – thanks to the continuous duty cycle, your system can operate 24/7 without interruptions due to screw jack overheating, optimizing resource utilization
  • rapid and efficient duty cycles – high speed allows for quick and dynamic load movement, leading to reduced cycle times, and the entire production process is accelerated, improving hourly output
  • superior quality and reduced waste – high precision guaranteed by minimal axial backlash ensures extremely accurate and repeatable positioning, a vital aspect for critical applications, resulting in high quality and minimal waste of the final product
  • total control and advanced integration – the low-inertia design with integrated servo gearbox allows for optimal movement control, obtaining fast, fluid, and perfectly synchronized movements, essential for integration into advanced automation and robotics systems
  • reliability in every environment – the robust construction that includes versions for special environments (ATEX, food-grade, custom) ensures reliability and versatility. operability is guaranteed even in hostile environments (dust, high temperatures, strict hygiene), extending the component’s service life and reducing maintenance and downtime costs
